First snow

The kids were so loud this morning and the puppy was whining. So I come out to see what all the commotion is.
Tyler says, "Mom it snowed in the night!!! It is so awesome!!! The only problem is murffy is all full of snow balls."
Umm.... so where is murf.
Tyler says, "Erin is working to defrost him. He can't go in the dryer or microwave like the clothes or meat so Erin is working on him in the bathroom."
Uggg do I dare look or just crawl back in bed????
So I check it out....Erin has 10 or so wet towels and is holding murffy in front of the heating vent. Much to his dismay. Needless to say she defrosted him (very humanely).
.....Good thing they are smart enough not to use the appliances that would not have turned out well for a small dog.....
Ahhh the first snow..........
Thankfully, I didn't miss even a minute, of the first snow, since it is 6:27am.

Wonder what he will come up with next??

So Tyler comes up stairs this morning looking a little thicker than usual. As he is eating breakfast he gets some syrup on his sleeve. I hear him tell Alli, "This is not a problem, I put on all my shirts this morning, so I can just take this one off and I have a clean one to wear."

Griffins win!!!

Tyler studies the big play. His comment, "They must have really fast skates, but not so good sticks. They keep breaking them."

We went to all faiths night at the Griffins game. After the game some of the players shared their testimony. It was great to see some hero's (especially of Tyler's) share their faith.

On my way to work...

Often on my way to work I listen to devotions. It is sometimes the only way I can have that time on those busy days. It was a great reminder this morning as the author of this devotion compared fishing to winning people to the Lord. I did quite a bit of fishing as a kids so it made a lot of sense....

1. Point one... you must use bait. This is a process because you need to get to know your fish.
2. You must WAIT... sometimes for a long time and sometimes it pays to stick it out a little longer.
3. Point 3... you can't clean a fish until it is caught. Jesus can't clean up a life he is not in.

So there were several other good points but these are the highlights. I really needed that on my way to work, as many days I do a great deal of fishing for men.
Hope this blesses your day.

Field trip to the Critter Barn

We met the cow.
Tyler milked the goat.
We got to hold brand new baby chicks.
Pet the most unusual rabbits. Tyler said "Mom look they have poodles." Well they did look like poodles.......with slightly longer ears.

Hockey

Tyler certainly is making great improvements in skating. We are having fun watching him get better every week. He can't wait until the lakes freeze over so he can skate. A few times a day he asks "When will it be winter and could we move to a lake," (taking the neighbor friends with of course). Cold never seems to bother him and he sure loves ice and snow. Mommy does not feel quite the same but the enthusiasm for hockey is contagious.

Happy Birthday

6 years old. We are having so much fun watching you grow up. You make us laugh every day with your silly sense of humor. We pray for you that you continue to grow up and grow in the Lord. We consider it such a blessing to be your parents.
We are learning hockey with you which has been a challege but we would do anything to see you light up like you do when you take the ice. Your comment "I love the smell of this place in the morning." still makes us laugh. We look forward to watching you play.
Your collection of monster trucks is impressive. The fact that you know each ones name and what kind of truck it is, makes us smile.
We can sense the big plans for you, with your outgoing spirit and your sense of humor. You will touch many peoples lives. Already, you have so many friends at school. You walk down the hall giving high fives to everyone you see. Even the older boys enjoy your company. We consider it such an honor to have you as our son. We love you, Mom, Dad and Sisters.

First Day of school

First day they are all in school....What to do, what to do.....
Tyler standing proudly in front of his loccer. Sweet boy how could you be old enough to go to school all day? I had a little twing of saddness when I packed him a lunch. I think he sensed it because I was putting his lunch in his backpack and he gave me a hug and said, "Mom if you get lonely at lunch and Dad is still sleeping, you can just come and have lunch with me at school. Alli says they let Mom's come sometimes." Oh, Tyler I am going to miss you buddy......

Got home threw my grubby clothes on and got to weeding in the garden. Can't believe how over grown it gets in only a couple weeks. Ode to peppers the site of more of you is making my mouth water and my eyes a little teary. They are so hot this year!!!!

Wow could it be.....Time to pick up the children... that did go fast!!!!
