To shower or not to shower

Erin was getting cast care instructions from the doctor a few days ago.

The doctor said "Now you have to find a way to keep this dry while you shower. I will suggest you put a plasic bag over it or something. It will be a little tricky."

Erin says "That's ok I don't need to shower."

Yup she's 8.......We had a good laugh.....

Bed time

So last night I tell Tyler, "It's 8:00. Time to get teeth brushed and get ready for bed."
He says,"But mom I still have energy You just can't tell because I'm not allowed to run in the house."
Trying not to laugh out loud at his stall tactic I do the "ummm well I guess just walk fast while you are getting ready for bed that should wear you out...Plus I can time you and if you do it really fast you will be soooo tired"
Smiling he says, "Mom I don't think that would really work for a boy my age.....I'm 5 you know. Plus I know you really can't set records getting ready for bed because there is no records for that in the real world of records. "
Ummmm well not sure what the real world of records is........but when did timing stop working....Ugg it was a tired mom's last resort......Goodnight buddy... stop growing up so fast. Mommy so enjoys your funniness even when I'm tired.

Murffy

We said when Alli turns 10 we would get a puppy. We put the kids off as long as we could. So here he is......so far he has been a pretty good puppy. He is a puppy though so he has a lot of learning to do. He will get about 8-10lbs at full grown. A big difference from the 75lb Retreiver we once had. We are learning too.
Some comments from the kids:
Erin "He is a good deal mom...he comes with accessories." (The lady gave us food and a couple dog toys to take with him)
Alli "I never thought I could love anything so much."
Tyler "He really doesn't like his cage mom, I think he could just sleep in my room, I'll even clean it up for him."
Life was so simple...what are we thinking........????
